Level 2 Apprenticeships

Apprenticeships represent an important element in the government’s Skills Strategy for Northern Ireland and the emphasis is on employment and “on –the –job” learning as the primary way of developing the skills employers need to remain competitive.

Training for Success will increase participation rates in apprenticeship programmes at both Level 2 and Level 3, with young people able to progress their learning and improve their skills. It is an ideal route into employment for young people who do not wish to follow the traditional academic path through college and university.

Importantly the Apprenticeship opportunities are not confined to a narrow range of sectoral areas. Opportunities are available in the following areas:

Active Leisure
Administration
Amenity Horticulture
Catering and Hospitality
Childcare
Distribution and Warehousing
Engineering
Play Work
Retail
Sport and Recreation

We will work closely with the government, other training providers and employers to ensure that we deliver quality apprenticeships that are a real gateway to sustainable employment, recognised qualifications and even Foundation Degrees and beyond.
